Wiregrass girls, Springstead boys shine at Mitchell (St. Petersburg Times)
Wiregrass Ranch's girls team and Springstead's boys were the big winners at
the Mitchell Invitational track meet over the weekend.
The Bulls won only four events but still earned 150 points - 37 more than
runner-up Springstead. Sophomore **Addie Cornwell **won the 3,200 meters
(12:48.46), and classmate **Casey Chitty** claimed the pole vault title by a
foot and a half (9-0). Senior **Hannah Eder **was the triple jump champion
(33-4.75), and the Bulls also won the 4x800 relay.
Springstead's **Wilena Little** was one of the meet's top performers. She won
the 200-meter dash (27.18 seconds) and the long jump, placed fourth in the 100
meters and ran on the Eagles' first-place 4x400 relay team.
Defending state champion **Courtney Prengaman **won the high jump (5-4) with a
height two inches below her mark in last year's state meet.

Sunday night's Grammys are being called a 'surprise, surprise' show -- where
winner after winner did not fit predictions.
The Black Keys were the big winners of the night with four statues. In a
surprise upset, Fun beat Frank Ocean for Best New Artist, Gotye won Record of
the Year and Mumford & Sons got Album of the Year. As Marcus Mumford put it...
**"We figured we weren't going to win anything because The Black Keys have
been sweeping up all day, rightfully so..." (quote via Washington Post)**
But even though The Black Keys topped the night, the wins were pretty spread
out -- not the Adele sweep of last year's show. But as it is with awards shows
-- it's often not just the awards that get people talking. The show's dress
code was much-buzzed about on the red carpet -- and even on stage.
